Best PC Games You Should Play

Let's get one important fact out of the way before we dive into the deep end of the pool: This is not a historical examination of the most groundbreaking PC games. Not. Even. Close. Sure, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain redefines stealth-based action and Forza Horizon 3 is the definitive open-world racer, but they didn't make it into this guide based purely on those metrics. Simply put, this an ever-expanding collection of all-around excellent titles you should buy if you own a gaming desktop or laptop.

1. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare :

While the formula is the same, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the best PC game to play right now, thanks to excellent graphics, engaging (though linear) game play and a gripping story line. Kevin Spacey does add to the drama!

2. Call of Duty WWII :
Call of Duty will be going back to its roots in November, with the next in the first person shooter series set in World War 2. With new multiplayer gameplay, zombies making a comeback and a harrowing single-player story. Call of Duty: WWII could be what we’re after.

3. Assassin's Creed Origins :
Assassin's Creed Origins takes us where no Assassin's Creed game has gone before, back in time to ancient Egypt, a land of intrigue, of assassinations, and of lurking crocodiles that'll take your legs off. Made by the team that brought you Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, the next chapter in the series will take us into the body of Bayek, as he becomes an assassin and protects his people from outside threats. It'll let us roam far and wide over ancient Egypt, levelling our assassin as we go with a pet eagle that you'll be able to control.

4. Bioshock Infinite :
The Best PC Game, BioShock Infinite is a must try for gamers looking for a mind-boggling experience.

5. Dishonored 2 :
There are less than a handful of stealth games that don’t have you reaching for the quickload key once you’re spotted, and this is one of them – an immersive sim that’s thrilling and inventive whether you’re shortcutting past enemies or cutting their throats.

6. Counter Strike - Global Offensive :
Global Offensive is the best and most esports friendly Counter-Strike has ever been. Not only is it now part of the Steam ecosystem where there’s weapon skin drops all over the place and various cool meta stuff going on, but at a fundamental level it’s beautifully balanced and perfectly designed. Beyond the classic small-scale single-life shootouts, there’s a great variety of modes that make CS:GO the most diverse Counter-Strike game. Check out Arms Race, where players must score kills to win a new weapon – the first player to use every weapon and score a final kill with the knife wins.

7. Fifa 18 :
With Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo set to brace the Fifa 18 cover, the annual, ultimate football game is here. A must for any football fan, Fifa 18 is packed with new features, including real player motion technology, so you’ll be copying all the same moves as your favourite player.

8. The Evil Within 2 :
The ultimate horror game, The Evil Within was crammed full of gore and brutal ways to die. Set in a disconnected and psychologically disturbed universe, the only way is forward and to escape the clawing darkness that is determined to drag you down. The next game in the franchise looks as if it will be just as eerie, complete with the desperate main protagonist and a plethora of evil creatures to wrap their claws around your unsuspecting ankles.

9. Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt :
Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine, the game's two major expansions, add even more without dropping quality – elaborate, morally challenging adventures that, despite their epic nature, remain surprisingly intimate. The core game and its expansion are lessons in how to design quests, elevated by superb writing and complex, believable characters. The Witcher modding scene is healthy, too.

10. Alien - Isolation :
Set 15 years after the events of the first Alien film from 1979, Alien: Isolation is the suspense-packed game that fans of the franchise have been crying out for. Playing the role of Amanda Ripley, daughter of Alien protagonist Ellen Ripley, your mission is to track down and recover the flight recorder of the Nostromo spacecraft from the first Alien film which has been located aboard the Sevastopol space station. First and foremost a stealth game, Isolation ramps up the tension by providing you with minimal weaponry. Its excellent graphics shine on high-end PCs and clever AI helps ramp up the dread, leaving you to quiver when turning every corner.
